Description
Suber-Oxid: Water-Based Antioxidant Primer for Metals
Protect metal surfaces with Suber-Oxid, a high-resistance water-based primer that delivers three-in-one functionality: it neutralizes rust for direct application on oxidized metal, provides antioxidant protection against corrosion (including flash-rust), and ensures long-term durability in outdoor conditions. Easy to apply with low odor, it’s ideal for metal surfaces in various environments.
Key Features
- Rust Neutralization: Can be applied directly on rust, provided the surface is stable.
- Anticorrosive Protection: Contains inhibitors to prevent metal oxidation during application and over time.
- Excellent Adhesion: Strong bonding to all types of metal surfaces.
- Elasticity: Adapts to metal movements without cracking.
- Waterproofing: Provides a protective barrier against moisture.
- Quick-Drying: Dries in 2-3 hours, with recoating in 4-6 hours (20°C and 60% RH).
- Low VOC: Maximum of 20 g/L, complies with EU Cat. A/i limit (140 g/L).
Why Choose Suber-Oxid?
Suberlev’s Suber-Oxid is the ultimate primer for protecting metal surfaces in construction, renovation, or maintenance projects. Its water-based formula, enriched with rust neutralizers and anticorrosive protectors, allows treatment of oxidized metals while preventing future corrosion. With easy application, a satin white finish, and excellent durability, it’s perfect for galvanized metals, light metals, and structures exposed to atmospheric conditions.
Surface Preparation
- New Metal Surfaces:
- Degrease the entire surface thoroughly.
- Remove all dirt.
- Test surface stability and remove loose old paint if necessary.
- Ensure the surface is completely dry.
- Galvanized and Light Metals:
- Degrease thoroughly and verify adhesion.
- Apply at least two coats of primer.
- Old Surfaces (Renovations):
- Degrease and remove loose or peeling old paint; test well-adhered paint for adhesion and compatibility.
- Ensure the surface is dry, clean, and free of mold or damp patches.
- Remove loose or flaking rust with a wire brush or mechanical cleaning.
Application Guidelines
- Mix the contents of the container thoroughly to homogenize the product.
- Apply to a completely dry surface using a brush, roller, spray gun, or airless sprayer, ensuring even distribution and avoiding drips.
- Apply at least two coats for optimal protection.
